Hire The Horns

You can hire the Fat City Horns!

The Fat City Horns are available for studio sessions, live performances and clinics. While their first love is playing with Santa Fe, the horn players are involved in adding their sound and expertise to multiple projects.

The Fat City Horns recently worked with Bette Midler for her show at Caesars Palace, “The Showgirl Must Go On”. They performed 170 shows over a period of two years, while playing every Monday night with Santa Fe and recording new projects.

The horn section is very involved with music education in Las Vegas. Six of the musicians are UNLV Alumni and four are instructors at the University. Phil Wigfall and Rob Mader teach saxophone, Nathan Tanouye teaches trombone, jazz ensemble and arranging and Gil Kaupp is instructor of music technology and trumpet teacher. The Fat City Horns frequently uses the state of the art UNLV recording studio to record projects and recorded the last Santa Fe CD, “When The Curtain Goes Up” in the facility.

The horn section has conducted clinics in schools throughout the Las Vegas Valley and have proved to be very popular. The horns have sat in with local high schools and shared their “pro” knowledge with the students. This is the horn section that gives back to the community. The Fat City Horns would love to come to your school or music festival.

You can have The Fat City Horns on your project and we can even write the arrangements. We recommend that you let us write your orchestrations and arrangements to get the “Fat City Horn” sound, but if you have your music ready, we can record it for you and have it sent to you or we can come to your studio.
